When the rain comes in from the South, the beacons wander closer to Brecon

Shaun the Sheep comes to visit!

Posted June 26, 2015 at 6:39 pm

We were privileged earlier this week to be joined by a very special Guest Brewer – Shaun the Sheep! Shaun is in the area having a look at the fabulous Brecon Beacons, and having his picture taken in all manner of places – take a look at #ShaunSelfie on Twitter and elsewhere to see what else he’s been up to!

Shaun watching the Mash

The start of the day : Shaun inspects the Mash – this is a Gold Beacons we’re brewing…

Shaun testing the MashShaun checks the Mash – consistency and temperature look good – and by the expression on his face it tastes pretty good as well!

Shaun's Mash AdventureObviously too good – Shaun! That’s no way to treat the Mash!!

He’s very friendly really – well so is Arran! [on the right for those who don’t know him – he’s the Assistant Brewer here]

Shaun looking for a strawShaun was obviously getting thirsty towards the end of the day – even with a long straw, we think he’d have trouble drinking all 10,000 pints of Red Beacons in that FV!

Shaun enjoys a pintAll the manual work done – time for the hardest part of the day – organoleptic testing…

[For those who worry about these things, we had CAMRA’s National Chief Steward on hand to age verify Shaun before he got his beer – despite his youthful good looks, he’s old enough in sheep years!]

Many thanks to Catrin and the team at Brecon Beacons Tourism for assisting in his visit.
