When the rain comes in from the South, the beacons wander closer to Brecon

6 ix 13 – The end of another week… or is it?

Posted September 6, 2013 at 5:26 pm

Another busy week, with lots happening on all sorts of fronts – oh, and finally catching up on beer stocks after the combination of Sun, Jazz and Green Man gave the Cold Store a nasty dose of tumbleweeds…

Apologies to all those who couldn’t get exactly the beers you wanted – hope you enjoyed what we did have!

Currently awaiting news of the Hop Harvest, and hoping to be able to pick some fresh hops from Little Lambswick Farm, by Tenbury Wells tomorrrow to brew the 2013 Vintage of Green Beacons. If all else fails, it will be brewed on Monday, which could make it tricky to get to Ludlow for the Food Festival next weekend – but we’ll try – www.foodfestival.co.uk for more details… We’ll be in the Inner Bailey with a great selection of beers to drink there and take away…

Currently enjoying a sneaky glass of the Super Orange – a special one-off brew in collaboration with Ed Davies – essentially a 6.0% (ish) version of the Orange Beacons – this will be available at the Star in Talybont on Sunday afternoon as a part of the celebrations for their Pub of the Year awards from CAMRA.

See you at the Star!
